Since yesterday, the balcony of the Águilas Town Hall has displayed a large pink ribbon symbolising the fight against breast cancer. The symbolic act is part of the activities scheduled for World Day Against Breast Cancer, which is celebrated tomorrow, October 19.

Every year on October 19, the world celebrates Breast Cancer Awareness Day. The day is used as a reminder of the commitment of the whole society in its fight against breast cancer. The day is used as a way of raising awareness among women about the importance of knowing breast about self-examination techniques, regular check-ups and mammograms, as essential for detecting problems in time.

Early diagnosis with such a disease is vital, because the chances of survival depend on it. A full recovery can be made if the disease is detected early enough.
