ARCHIVED - Alicante firemen put the brakes on basketball team away game
The fire was caused by brake pads on the team coach
Life is constantly full of challenges for Alicante firemen, who “hotfooted” it from one incident to the next this weekend.
After successfully extinguishing a fire in the the Parque Natural Lagunas de la Mata in Torrevieja, their next call-out was a team bus transporting a basketball team to a match, which had gone up in smoke on the motorway.
The fire had been caused by faulty brakes.
Fortunately there were no injuries on board and the fire on the coach was successfully brought under control, although not before the coach was converted into a total write-off.
