Daily buses to Corvera airport from Murcia and Cartagena launched ahead of the summer season
From April 15, travellers will have access to up to 10 buses a day to Murcia International Airport for just €1.85

With the summer season fast approaching and Corvera airport set to get busier by the week, Murcia's regional government has announced a significant expansion of bus services connecting the airport to both Murcia city and Cartagena.
The new daily service launches on April 15 and represents a major step up from the current two-days-a-week arrangement.
Even so the service still falls well short of the private coach service by Airport Buses, which is proving to be extremely popular amongst users.
From this coming Wednesday, passengers travelling from Murcia will have 10 daily departures to choose from, with nine return services from the airport back into the city. The Cartagena route will run eight daily departures in each direction.
Both services will operate seven days a week and connect to and from the cities' main bus stations. In total, the expanded timetable delivers 238 weekly trips, compared to just 12 under the current Monday and Sunday only schedule.A single ticket will be priced at just €1.85 regardless of direction.
Buses from Murcia to the airport depart at 7:30, 8:45, 10:15, 12:00, 13:15, 15:00, 17:00, 18:15, 19:30 and 20:45, with returns leaving the airport at 8:00, 9:15, 10:45, 12:30, 13:45, 15:30, 17:30, 18:45, 20:00 and 21:15.
From Cartagena, departures run at 7:15, 9:00, 11:15, 13:15, 15:00, 17:15, 19:15 and 20:45, with airport returns at 10:00, 12:15, 14:15, 16:15, 18:00, 20:00 and 21:30.
Full timetables are also available on the CARM website.
Director General of Mobility and Transport, José Antonio Verdú, explained that the expansion has been brought forward by three months, building on temporary increases already put in place during high-demand periods.
He described improved airport connectivity as "a priority for the regional government, because it contributes to its competitiveness, encourages the arrival of visitors and facilitates the movement of citizens," adding that the service reduces dependence on private vehicles and promotes more sustainable travel.
The timing is particularly welcome given the wider pressures currently facing the aviation industry. Airlines including Ryanair, which operates routes from Corvera, have warned that jet fuel supplies could start running out within weeks if the Strait of Hormuz isn’t reopened soon.
Private airport transfer service Airport Buses, on the other hand, ensures that their coaches follow routes that pick up and drop off at all of the Region’s major urbanisations, golf resorts and towns of tourist interest along the coast.
In addition, their buses always coincide with departure and arrival times for flights at the airport, making it a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the public buses from Murcia city and Cartagena.
