Fiestas, Los Belones
Los Belones celebrates its fiestas in honour of San Isidro
Los Belones falls within an administrative district of the Cartagena municipality called Rincón de San Ginés, which covers an area from Los Belones right the way down to Cabo de Palos.
Within this district ( known as a pedanía) there are a number of different Fiestas dedicated to various saints, and in Los Belones, the church is dedicated to San isidro Labrador, the patron saint of agriculturalists. The patron saint’s day of San Isidro is 15th May, so the local fiestas focus around this particular day.

The patron saint fiestas in honour of San Isidro
The Fiestas de San Isidro in Los Belones include a whole host of official acts, as well as community activities. In all the fiesta season lasts for a month and a half, with a variety of activities for the people of the town, the busiest time being the week leading up to 15th May. This is the saint’s day of San Isidro Labrador, the patron saint of the town.
Preparations begin in April, when the Fiestas Queen and her Ladies in Waiting are chosen. May gets under way with the Romería to the Cabezo de la Fuente, followed by the lace embroidery exhibition, the open-air dinner-dances and of course the religious celebrations. These include the floral offering to the patron saint, Holy Masses and the procession of the image of San Isidro through the streets of Los Belones.
