Final stretch of Murcia's A-30 Bypass is set to open this March
The 7.6km final section of the North-West Bypass will complete the route, linking the A-30 and A-7

Murcia's long-awaited North-West Bypass, known locally as the Arco Noroeste, is almost ready for action. The final 7.6-kilometre section is scheduled to open to traffic in the second half of March, completing the 21.7-kilometre route and finally connecting the A-30 near Archena with the A-7 in Alcantarilla.
Government delegate Francisco Lucas announced the timeline during a business forum at the Real Casino de Murcia. He spoke about the importance of this project for regional traffic and the connectivity in general. Parts of the bypass have been in use since last summer, but this last stretch will allow drivers to travel the full route without interruption.
The bypass will improve journeys for both local and long-distance traffic, easing congestion in the city and providing a smoother link between Murcia and surrounding towns. Seven municipalities stand to benefit directly: Molina de Segura, Lorquí, Villanueva del Río Segura, Ceutí, Alguazas, Las Torres de Cotillas, and the regional capital, Murcia.

Lucas described the project as part of region-wide investments intended to address long-standing infrastructure needs and prepare the region for future growth. He also mentioned that the Consejo de Ministros is set to approve a €108 million contract to install AVE rail tracks between Lorca and Vera, strengthening high-speed rail connections across the region.
With the final section opening, drivers in the area can finally breathe a sigh of relief. The new North-West Bypass should make a real difference, easing traffic for both local commuters and long-distance drivers. And, of course, the end of the long-running construction works will help too. Hopefully, this will now make journeys quicker, cut congestion through the city and make travelling across the region a lot less stressful.
