ARCHIVED - Free guided tours of Altea throughout August
Summer program of guided tours launched in the Marina Baixa municipality, Alicante province.
Altea Council's tourism department has put together a program of free guided tours to allow residents and visitors to "discover Altea from a variety of different perspectives".
The line up of tours is as follows:
Friday, August 6, 7pm - Tour of Altea la Vella. The micro-route leaves Altea la Vella car park and makes its way to Calle Cura Llinares, taking in the picturesque network of streets, church and the views of La Bèrnia from the Calvari viewpoint.
Saturday, August 7, 7pm - Tour of the old town's emblematic buildings and streets. Meet at Palau Altea Arts Centre.
Saturday, August 7, 11pm - Moonlight Tour. Meet at the entrance of Nostra Senyora del Consol Chuch.
Friday, August 13, 7pm - Camí del Peix route from Altea Tourist Information Centre following the old route sailors historically took to sell their fish at the market in Plaza Portal Vell.
Saturday, August 14, 7pm - Seaside route from Altea Tourist Information Centre passing by Sant Francesc Church, through the hidden corners of the Bellaguarda district and the Plaza de la Cantereria, ending at Plaza de la Iglesia.
Friday, August 20, 7pm - Botanical Route along the Algar River. Meet at Algar River car park in Altea.
Saturday, August 21 and August 28, 7pm - Seafaring Tour through the coastal neighbourhood. Meet at Altea Tourist Information Centre.
Friday, August 27, 7pm - Caminos de Altea Botanical Interpretation Tour of the Horta and Barranquet districts. Meet at Altea Tourist Information Centre.
