ARCHIVED - Free tourist routes in Orihuela throughout September
The fun and educational routes offer a fantastic opportunity to find out more about the Vega Baja municipality in Alicante province
Orihuela council's tourism and festivities department has put together a programme of eight free walks and a bike ride as part of its 'Orihuela Awaits You' summer campaign.
The September dates, times and locations are as follows:
Friday, September 3, 8.30pm - Theatrical walk for the whole family 'The minstrel and the crossroads'. Meet at the Orihuela Tourist Office in the centre of the town.
Saturday, September 4, 8.30pm - Theatrical walk 'The Guilds' led by the Teatro Expresión group. Meet at Orihuela Tourist Office.
Friday, September 10, 8.30pm - Tourist route 'A walk with Loaces'. Meet at Orihuela Tourist Office.
Saturday, September 11, 8.30pm - Tourist route 'Virgen de Monserrate'. Meet at Orihuela Cathedral.
Friday, September 17, 8.30pm - Tourist route with the name 'Leyendas'. Meet at Orihuela Tourist Office.
Saturday, September 18, 8.30pm - 'Virgen de Monserrate' route. Meet at Santuario Nuestra Señora de Monserrate (The Shrine of Our Lady of Monserrate) in Orihuela.
Friday, September 24, 8.30pm - Tourist route 'Palacios' (palaces). Meet at Orihuela Tourist Office.
Sunday, September 26, 9am - Bike ride through the Norias Gemelas de Orihuela, an important part of municipality's hydraulic heritage.
All of the events are free with limited places, so anybody interested in taking part is asked to reserve a place here.
