Murcia football stadium now among the 15 largest in Spain
576 new seats see the Enrique Roca or Nueva Condomina climb the rankings of Spanish football venues
Real Murcia may not have the best football team in Spain – in fact, they certainly don’t! – but their home stadium, the Estadio Enrique Roca (known by most as the Nueva Condomina) is among the newest and, as of this month, largest in the country.
The stadium is nowhere near the size of the Camp Nou in Barcelona (105,000 spectators) or the Santiago Bernabéu in Madrid (83,186), but with the addition of a further 576 in September the capacity has risen to 32,024, placing it among the top 15 in the whole of Spain. This raises its chances of hosting major tournaments and matches in the future, possibly bringing in more full houses like the one which greeted the inaugural event in 2006, a friendly match between Spain and Argentina (Spain won 2-1 with goals from Xavi and David Villa).
The other largest stadia in Spanish football, in terms of capacity, are the following:

The Estadio Enrique Roca has been officially classified as a 4-star facility by FIFA, but us unable to host, for example, Champions League finals because it does not meet the minimum requirement of 50,000 spectators, but nonetheless it cannot have been far away from the list of venues initially announced for the 2030 World Cup.
It is also worth noting that all of the stadia listed above are the homes of La Liga First Division clubs, with the exception of the one in Las Palmas, whose team are currently in the Second Division, La Cartuja, which is used for finals of the Copa del Rey and as the unofficial home of the national side, and The Lluis Companys, which is currently without a home team after being home to both FC Barcelona and RCD Espanyol.
However, Real Murcia are once again in Group 2 of the Primera Federación, in broad terms the equivalent of the old English Third Division South, where a promising start to the 2026-27 season was ruined on Sunday by a 4-0 defeat at the hands of Atlético Madrileño.
