Spain weekend weather forecast June 25-28: Heatwave ends but temperatures stay sky-high
A cooler spell will arrive across much of Spain before hotter weather begins to build once more over the weekend

Average temperatures expected on Saturday June 27
After several days of intense heat and temperatures above 40°C in some parts of Spain, there will finally be some relief over the next few days. Cooler Atlantic air will help bring the recent heatwave to an end, with temperatures dropping noticeably in many areas on Thursday and Friday.
Even so, it won't stay cool for long. By the weekend, temperatures will begin rising again across much of the country, particularly inland and in the south, where some areas will once again be heading towards the upper 30s.
Thursday June 25

The skies will be largely sunny and clear across most of Spain, although northern and northwestern areas will see more cloud and some rain. Localised heavy showers and thunderstorms are possible in parts of Galicia, the Cantabrian coast and nearby inland areas.
Despite the cooler conditions, temperatures will still reach 34°C to 36°C in parts of the Ebro Valley, eastern inland areas and parts of the Mediterranean coast. A few locations could still see highs approaching 38°C or 39°C. Overnight, many Mediterranean coastal areas will continue to experience tropical nights, with temperatures remaining above 20°C.
Friday June 26

Temperatures will continue to settle back towards more typical late June levels across most of the country.
The skies will be sunny for many regions, with just a few patches of cloud drifting across eastern and Mediterranean areas. Galicia and parts of the far north will remain cloudier, with occasional light rain possible throughout the day.
A few isolated afternoon showers could develop over higher ground in eastern Spain, but most places will stay dry.
The hottest conditions will continue to be found in the Ebro Valley and parts of eastern and southern Spain, where temperatures will still reach 34°C to 36°C in places.
Saturday June 27

The weekend will begin on a largely settled note, with sunshine dominating across most of Spain.
Cloud and occasional light rain will continue to affect Galicia and parts of the Cantabrian coast. Elsewhere, the skies will be mostly clear, although afternoon cloud could trigger a few isolated thunderstorms in mountainous areas of northern Spain.
Temperatures will start climbing again in many inland regions. The Guadalquivir Valley, southern inland areas, the Ebro Valley and parts of eastern Spain will once again see temperatures rising into the mid to high 30s.
Early morning mist and fog could form in parts of Galicia, the Cantabrian coast and some Mediterranean coastal areas.
Sunday June 28

Hot weather will strengthen further across much of Spain as the weekend draws to a close.
The sun will dominate across most regions, although northern and northeastern areas will see more cloud, along with some light rain and the possibility of afternoon thunderstorms.
Temperatures will remain very high across southern inland areas, the Ebro Valley and parts of eastern Spain, where 34°C to 36°C will once again be widely reached. Some southern locations could climb even higher.
The coolest conditions will be found in the far north, where cloud cover and occasional rain will keep temperatures lower than elsewhere in the country.
