Temperature soars back up to 37 degrees: Murcia weekly weather forecast September 1-4

This month we will officially welcome the start of autumn, but it will still be hot and getting hotter this week

Murcia weather forecast, Thursday September 4

It is a settled start to September for the Region of Murcia, with dry days, clear or partially cloudy skies and moderate temperatures forecast by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet).

It seems hard to believe that summer is almost over and we will be ringing in the start of autumn on the 22nd of this month, especially as temperatures for this week will climb back up to maximums of 37ºC by Thursday September 4.

Monday September 1

For the first day of September, this Monday, Aemet forecasts “high clouds and “minimum temperatures rising in the southeastern part of the Region, falling or unchanged in the rest”. They add that maximum temperatures will be “unchanged on the coast and falling inland, locally notable in the mountains”.

Tuesday September 2

Tuesday, too, could see a little high cloud cover. Minimum temperatures at night will be much chillier – up to five degrees lower than the night before, at the time just before dawn – and a light northwesterly wind will be blowing “with moderate southerly intervals in the afternoon”.

Wednesday September 3

Aemet forecasts “mostly clear skies” for Wednesday, with temperatures rising across the board and just a gentle breeze blowing, nothing too drastic and nothing to write home about.

Thursday September 4

These calm and settled conditions continue into Thursday, with “maximum temperatures rising slightly inland” up to 37ºC in Murcia capital and Cieza, and “unchanged on the coast” at around 31-33ºC.

Looking ahead to the weekend, there is a chance of heavier cloud cover and maximum temperatures dropping again to the low-30s.

Shuttle bus connecting Corvera Airport with key destinations, launching May 2025

Airport Buses Murcia Airport transfer service

Starting on May 22, 2025, Airport Buses will launch a daily shuttle transfer service connecting the Region of Murcia International Airport with key destinations across Murcia, southern Alicante and Almería, every time there is a direct flight between Corvera Airport and a destination in the UK or Ireland, plus selected European flights.

Three initial routes will serve:

La Manga route: Murcia Airport, Cabo de Palos, Playa Honda, Capfun, Mar de Cristal, Los Belones, La Manga Club, Cartagena and La Manga Strip (€12.99-€19.99/adult each way)
