Temperatures climb as storms abate: Alicante weather forecast Nov 14-17
Following another orange rain warning, the weather in Alicante should improve over the weekend
Weather alerts on Thursday November 14
The province of Valencia experienced a tense early morning on Thursday November 14, with the coast on red alert for rain under downpours that have caused yet more flash flooding in parts. However, ground zero from the DANA of October 29 avoided the worst of the weather, and the alert has now been downgraded to orange by the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET).
But it’s not all good news, as the weather warning in the north of Alicante province, which was battered by storms earlier in the week, has been elevated from yellow to orange, meaning there’s still a significant chance of property damage and conditions will be treacherous.
As the days go on though, the weather will improve significantly throughout Alicante and by Sunday, we can expect dry if rather cloudy skies and very pleasant temperatures.
Thursday November 14
The orange weather warning for torrential rain in northern Alicante will remain in place until mid-morning, and the showers will remain strong and persistent along the coast. There’s a good chance of rain in the rest of the province too, but this will be much lighter and more scattered further south and inland.
Daytime temperatures will shoot up into the mid-20s in most parts, but it will become gradually breezier as the hours go by.
Friday November 15
While the weather warnings have been removed on Friday, the day will still be very overcast with widespread, light rain. Temperatures will remain more or less the same but it might feel a little chilly along the coast, thanks to a moderate north-easterly wind.
Saturday November 16
Daytime temperatures will vary greatly on Saturday: along the coast, highs of 22ºC or 23ºC are expected, but the mercury could drop to as low as 17ºC inland.
The south of the province will remain mostly dry with some sunny intervals, but rain is again forecast in the north, particularly in Dénia and Alcoy, where it will be quite overcast.
Sunday November 17
Things will take a turn for the better on Sunday, with no rain forecast anywhere in Alicante province at the moment. It will be a little hazy and cloudy, but there should be lots of bright spells in the afternoon.
Daytime temperatures remain largely unchanged apart from a few increases inland.
Minimum and maximum temperatures in Alicante this weekend
- Thursday November 14: 10ºC to 24ºC
- Friday November 15: 10ºC to 22ºC
- Saturday November 16: 11ºC to 23ºC
- Sunday November 17: 10ºC to 23ºC
