Iron Maiden return to the Region of Murcia in 2026
The legendary British band will headline the next edition of Rock Imperium in Cartagena
Two years after their last visit, Iron Maiden are set to return to the Region of Murcia. Widely regarded as one of the greatest heavy metal bands of all time, they will take centre stage at the Rock Imperium Festival in Cartagena from July 3 to 5, 2026.
The band’s presence alone guarantees that the festival will be dominated by the unmistakable power of the ‘Iron Lady’.
Organisers of Rock Imperium had already promised that this year’s edition would be the most ambitious yet. With Iron Maiden topping the bill, they appear to be keeping that promise.
The festival has previously hosted iconic names such as Scorpions, Deep Purple and Kiss, but 2026 now looks set to reach an entirely new level.
The first announcement of the line-up also revealed other heavyweight names in the world of metal. Swedish power metal giants Sabaton and American metalcore pioneers Trivium will share the spotlight with Maiden, marking their debut performances in Cartagena.They will be joined by familiar favourites such as the Scandinavian band Heat, known for spearheading the revival of eighties hard rock and glam. After a warmly received performance in 2024, they will return to the port city with their trademark energy.
Dutch gothic innovators The Gathering and American progressive legends Queensrÿche will also appear, bringing influences from Dream Theater and Fates Warning to the stage.
The first wave of confirmed artists is completed by Italian favourites Lacuna Coil, the dark and experimental Dogma, Crimson Glory, and Japanese groups Hagane and Triskel, all of whom add to the international flavour of the line-up.
