K9 Club's beautiful rescue mum Kiara is still waiting for her forever home

The gentle Labrador cross is patiently waiting at the Callosa de Segura shelter for a family of her very own

K9 Club is a registered non-profit charity on the Costa Blanca, number CV-01-043388-A, dedicated to rescuing and rehoming dogs and cats. The organisation is run entirely by volunteers and also operates two charity shops, one in Almoradí and one in La Marina, with proceeds going straight back into the animals' care.

Based in Callosa de Segura, K9 Club is a family-run shelter looking after dogs and cats of every age, breed and size. The volunteers spend as much time as they can with each animal to keep them happy and socialised, but however good the shelter is, it's never a proper substitute for a home of their own.

Right now, the team is especially keen to find somewhere for Kiara, a Labrador cross who arrived at the shelter with a litter of nine puppies. Every single one of those puppies has had interest from would-be adopters, yet nobody has stepped forward for Kiara herself.

Kiara is only two and a half, so there's plenty of life left for her to share with a family. She adores people, gets on brilliantly with other dogs and is perfectly relaxed around cats too. She's a natural on the lead, is truly gently and loving and responds really well to commands, all of which the volunteers say makes her a dog who'd slot into home life with ease.

Her puppies have grown up in a house with cats and other dogs around them, so the shelter believes they should settle into family life just as easily, whether that's alongside their mum or in homes of their own.
